Requests for Verification of New York State Teacher Certification, Highly Qualified Status, or Good Standing

 

The New York State Office of Teaching Initiatives does not provide letters verifying New York State teacher Certification status, Highly Qualified Status, or Good Standing.
The Office of Teaching can fill out and submit official licensure forms to the state in question. As an applicant, it is your responsibility to:

  1. Determine what form needs to be completed for the state licensing agency you are applying to.
  2. Complete any required information on the form that gives The Office of Teaching permission to release your licensure information.
  3. Submit the form to us in a timely manner by using the contact form found here

Individuals holding a New York State credential for public school service may apply for a duplicate certificate. For more information go to Printed Certificate.

To access your Certification records, you may use our TEACH Online Services.

U.S. States can verify disciplinary actions through the NASDTEC Clearinghouse.
