1. What if I cannot get to the Web site?
   
   The most common problems accessing our site are due to the version or settings of your browser. In order for our site to function properly, use one of the following versions of browser:
   
   Netscape version 7.0 or higher
   Internet Explorer version 6.01 or higher
   Opera 7.0 or higher
   Mozilla 1.6
   
   You can usually check the version of the browser you are using by clicking on the item "About…" under the "Help" icon. Additionally, "JavaScript" must be enabled on your browser. Other browsers not listed above may work properly if they are SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) - compliant and are JavaScript enabled.
    
2. What are the technical requirements for using this site? Do I need special software?
   
   This web site has been designed to be compatible with common Macintosh and PC web browsers.  For optimal use Netscape 7.0 or Internet Explorer 6.01 or higher with 800 x 600 or higher resolution with JavaScript Enabled.
   
   We sometimes post documents as Portable Document Format (PDF), this format requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and view the file.  If you do not already have this software, download it FREE from Adobe.
   
   We occasionally post the Microsoft Office format (.doc). If you do not have this software on your computer, you may download FREE viewers from Microsoft's Website
    

3. When I make a selection in the first select box it will not stay selected.
   
   Solution 1:  In your Internet Explorer browser follow the steps below:
   
   1.  Go to Edit
   2.  Click Preferences
   3.  Click Web Content
   4.  Click the check box to disable scripting
   5.  Click Refresh button on your browser
   
   You can use the Search Certification Requirements feature by making a selection then clicking the Go button.  Continue this until you have made your five selections; click search to receive the results.
   
   Solution  2:  Use Netscape Navigator Internet browser to use the Search Certification Requirements feature.

   Solution 3:  Use Safari Internet browser the Search Certifications Requirements feature.
    

4. The text is too small for me to read, can I change this?
   
   You can increase or decrease the text size with your browser settings.
   
   If you have Internet Explorer go to the view menu, then click text size, and increase the text size.
   
   If you use Netscape go to the view menu and select "increase font"
    
5. How can I print only part of a web page?
   
   Some browser/printer configurations allow you to print selected text.
   Here's How:
   
   • Select the text you would like to print.
     
     There are two ways to do this:
     Click once at the beginning of the text you want to print. Hold down the Shift key. Or
     Click at the end of your text. The text you wish to print should be highlighted now.
      
   • Position your mouse cursor at the beginning of the text you want to print. While holding down the button, drag the cursor to the end of your text. Release the mouse button. The text you wish to print should be highlighted now.
      
   • From the "File" menu, select "Print…"
      
   • The Print options screen should appear. Under "Print Range" choose "Selection". If "Selection" is disabled, it means you do not have any text selected on the page.
     Repeat Step 1.
      
   • Press "OK" on the Print options menu.

    

6. What monitor screen resolution should I use to view the Web site?
   
   For best results set screen resolution to 800 x 600 or higher.
    
7. Are there any browser options that will help me get the most out of the visit?
   
   Yes. We recommend that you enable JavaScript in your browser preference menu, enable style sheets, and allow images to download. If you have questions about these options, please consult your browser's Help menu.
    
8. What should I do if a page is taking too long to download?
   
   We've tried to minimize the download time for each page by compressing images. However, depending on your connection to the Internet, the day of the week, time of day, internet traffic, etc., you may find the download slow. If the time is usually long, we suggest that you temporarily turn off the download images option and try to access the page again. Your browser's Help menu will offer guidance on how to do this. If the lag in download time is still slow, leave the Web site and try again at a later time.
    
9. What are PDF files?
   
   Portable Document Format (PDF) files are created with Adobe Acrobat. This file format allows users to view and print files without needing the original development software. For example, many brochures and pamphlets are created using software like Adobe PageMaker or QuarkXpress. By saving the file as a PDF, anyone with the Adobe Acrobat Reader can read and print the file, not just those with PageMaker or QuarkXpress. The PDF format also has the added advantage of producing smaller file sizes, making it an excellent format for Internet transfers.
   
    
10. How can I read PDF files?
    
    To view a PDF file, you will need to install the free Acrobat Reader software, downloadable from the Adobe Web site.
     
11. I received an error message that read, "Acrobat Reader: There was an error processing a page. A font contains a bad CMap/Encoding." What does that mean?
    
    This may mean that a later version of Acrobat Reader is needed to open the file. Try downloading the latest version of the software (which is free) from the Adobe Web site.
     
12. What are Word or DOC files?
    
    Microsoft Word is word processing software that saves files with a *.doc extension.
     
13. Can I still read Word documents if I don't have Word?
    
    Yes! Microsoft provides free Word viewers on its Web site. These viewers allow people who don't have Word to open (but not edit) those files.
     
14. I don't have the right version of Word. What should I do?
    
    Don't worry. Microsoft's Web site offers Word Converters that you can download to read files created in another version of Word.
