Provisional Renewals - Pupil Personnel Service

  • If you hold a Pupil Personnel Service Provisional certificate, you may renew your expired Provisional certificate one time for a period of five years.

  • School Social Workers, School Psychologists, School Attendance Teachers, School Nurse Teachers, School Dental Hygiene Teacher
    • You must have completed all requirements for the Permanent certificate, with the exception of the experience requirement.
  • School Counselors
    • To qualify for the renewed Provisional certificate for school counselors, you are required to have completed all requirements for the Permanent certificate, with the exception of the academic and experience requirements.

Provisional Renewals – School Administrator and Supervisor

  • If you hold a School Administrator and Supervisor provisional certificate, you may renew your expired provisional certificate one time for a period of five years, if you have not already had a provisional renewal, after September 1, 2013.This is a one-time opportunity for you to complete the experience requirement for the permanent School Administrator and Supervisor certificate.
    • You must have completed all requirements for the Permanent certificate, with the exception of the experience requirement.
    You must achieve a satisfactory score on the school building leader exam required at the time the renewed provisional is issued. 

 

Time Extensions
  • Specific conditions occurring within the lifetime of the provisional, initial or transitional certificate may allow for an expired certificate to be extended up to two years, with the possibility of a third year time extension. For details, go to Time Extensions.
