The New York State Education Department’s Office of Test Security, Data Privacy and Educator Integrity is comprised of three component units:

The units are staffed with professionals possessing legal, investigative and security expertise, and support personnel.  They are managed by the Executive Director for Test Security, Data Privacy and Educator Integrity. Together, they handle the Department’s responsibilities in the following areas: protecting the integrity of the New York State Testing Program; ensuring the privacy of protected student, teacher and principal data; pursuing administrative educator discipline; managing the teacher tenure employment termination process; managing fingerprint-supported criminal history background clearances for certification and school employment purposes.
