Requirements Teaching Assistant - Level I Certificate
- If you have never held a New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate, you must apply, and meet the requirements for a Level I Teaching Assistant certificate.
- If you have at least one year of teaching experience in New York as a classroom teacher under a NYS classroom teaching certificate, you may proceed to Level III Teaching Assistant.
- All others should review the requirements for the certificate-level you are interested in receiving.

- Education - High School Diploma or GED
- Submit a copy of your high school diploma, high school transcript, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE), or
- An official college transcript that includes a degree conferral (Associate's, Bachelor's, etc.). A college transcript without a degree conferral is not acceptable.
- Note: Home School diplomas and online high school diplomas are not acceptable. High school diplomas must be awarded by a verified public school, charter school, or private school.

- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Training in Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention (DASA training)
- Fingerprint Clearance
