Submitting Documents for Coaching Applications

First Aid & CPR Documentation:

As of 11/01/2024, the Office of Teaching Initiatives no longer accepts certificates of completion for First Aid/CPR coursework directly from applicants.

• First Aid and Cpr certification must be completed with an approved provider, for more information please contact the NYS Office of P-12 Instructional Support.
• Your school district must attest to your completion of the First Aid and CPR requirements in a Superintendent Statement (either the School District Recommendation for Temporary Licenses, or the Coaching Evaluations for the Professional Coaching License and Professional Coaching License Renewal).

Coaching Coursework Required for the Individual or NFHS Pathway:

• Your course completion certificate(s) or NYSED letter of approved course equivalency should be sent to tcert@nysed.gov using the subject line "Coaching Coursework", and include your full name (as it appears in TEACH), your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security Number in the body of the email.
