Teacher Tenure Hearings (3020a)

Tenured educators have the right to retain their positions and may only be terminated if there is “just cause” pursuant to Education Law §3020.  The rules specifying the process for terminating a tenured educator have undergone significant changes since April 2012.  The most recent changes apply to charges commenced on or after July 1, 2015.  The changes are described in the various memos to the field which may be obtained by clicking the links below.
