CTLE in Applicable Schools

Educators who hold one or more of the following certificates and practice in an applicable school (i.e., school district, BOCES, or nonpublic school) must register and complete the CTLE requirement.

  • Professional certificate in the classroom teaching service
  • Professional certificate in the educational leadership service (i.e., School Building Leader, School District Leader, or School District Business Leader)
  • Teaching Assistant Level III certificate

The following table specifies which employment settings are considered practice in an applicable school, requiring educators who are subject to CTLE to complete CTLE while practicing in the employment setting.
