Feedback Process and Web Survey for the Draft Teaching Standards
We invite thoughtful and focused feedback on this draft document. We recommend reading An Introduction to the Draft Teaching Standards and printing and reading a copy of the Recommended Draft of the New York State Teaching Standards before entering the survey.
As you review the printed copy, be prepared to answer two questions for each element and performance indicator.
The questions for each element will be:
- Is the element clear and understandable?
- Does the element describe what a teacher needs to know and be able to do?
The questions for each performance indicator will be:
- Is the performance indicator clear and understandable?
- Is the performance indicator measurable?
Depending on your internet settings your survey may time out after 60 minutes. Preprinting the documents will assist you in completing the survey before the survey times out.
You cannot advance to the next page of the survey until you have responded to ALL questions regarding the element and performance indicators.
You may go back to previous pages in the survey and update existing responses until you complete or exit the survey. Once the survey is completed (or exited), you will not be able to re-enter the survey to update your responses.
The second feedback period will end on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. All feedback received by that date will be considered by the Teaching Standards Workgroup as it revises and refines the draft. At the conclusion of this process, the revised draft of Teaching Standards will be submitted to the Board of Regents for its consideration in the winter of 2010.
