-
How long will my application remain on file?
The Office of Teaching Initiatives retains application files for three years.
If it takes longer than three years to complete the requirements for your
certificate, you must submit an updated application, (no additional fee
required), original college transcripts, and other supporting documentation.
It is important, therefore, to retain copies for your records of all documents
you submit. top
-
Once I have applied, how long should I wait for a response?
Due to large fluctuations in application volume, it is difficult to estimate.
We recommend that you submit an application, via certified mail return receipt,
requested six to eight months prior to your need of certification or evaluation.
Applications submitted though the college recommendation process and complete
applications submitted through the BOCES Regional Certification Offices are
processed significantly faster. top
-
Do I need to send in transcripts every time
I apply for "another"
certificate?
Each application for an additional certificate title requires a new application
and submission of the fee. Any transcripts submitted within the last
3 years do not need to be submitted again. NOTE: The Office of
Teaching Initiatives only retains records for 3 years after the last
evaluation. top
-
What do I do if there is an error on my certificate?
If you have received your certificate and something has been printed wrong,
please return the original certificate and a letter
stating what is wrong and the correction to: Office of Teaching Initiatives,
Room 5N, 89 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12234.
