Status of Application
When to expect an evaluation or issued Certificate
If you have already applied, allow 14-18 weeks from your most recent submission for issuance of a certificate or notification of deficiencies by the process of individual transcript evaluation.
If you completed an approved teacher education program and have been college recommended, allow one to two weeks from the date your college submitted their recommendation.
NOTE: Turn-around times may be longer during peak periods depending on the volume of applications.
Check to see if your certificate has been issued.
Expedited Service
For applicants with pending employment opportunities, go to the: Expedited Services page for information regarding expedited processing and review of your certification application.
For Questions on Required Fingerprints, Tests and Workshops
Fingerprint clearance, proof of completion of the Child Abuse Identification and Reporting Workshop and proof of completion of the School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop are one-time submissions. These, along with scores of NYSTCE exams as reported to NYSED by NES, make up an applicant's computer file and do not need to resubmitted with each additional application for certificate.
