Requirements Teaching Assistant - Level I Certificate

• If you have never held a New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate, you must apply, and meet the requirements for a Level I Teaching Assistant certificate.
  
  
• If you have at least one year of teaching experience in New York as a classroom teacher under a NYS classroom teaching certificate, you may proceed to Level III Teaching Assistant.
  
  
• All others should review the requirements for the certificate-level you are interested in receiving.

TEACHING ASSISTANT - LEVEL I
Education - High School Diploma or GED Submit a copy of your high school diploma, high school transcript, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE), or An official college transcript that includes a degree conferral (Associate's, Bachelor's, etc.). A college transcript without a degree conferral is not acceptable. Note: Home School diplomas and online high school diplomas are not acceptable. High school diplomas must be awarded by a verified public school, charter school, or private school. All documentation must include acceptable identifying information.
