Professional Coaching License Renewal Requirements
You must have held a Professional Coaching License in the same sport as the Renewal application.
- Valid First Aid Course
- Valid CPR Course
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Training in Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention (DASA training)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- Three years of Satisfactory Experience as a NY Licensed Coach
You must submit copies of three years of satisfactory evaluations for coaching the sport of the license you are applying for. The evaluations must be within the validity of your most recent Professional or Professional Renewal coaching license for the sport. The evaluations must also show the sport, season you were evaluated for, and must be signed and dated by the Athletic Director or the appropriate school official.
Effective February 1, 2022, this Coaching Evaluation form must be completed for any applicant who is applying for a Professional coaching application who has not self-reported their experience on their Teach account or for the Professional Renewal. Completed evaluations should be sent to tcert@nysed.gov Attn: Coaching
If you did not coach the sport for any of the applicable three years, submit evaluations for the years you coached and submit a statement attesting that you did not coach that sport for one or more of the applicable seasons and identify what season you did not coach.
