Certification

Submitting American Red Cross Courses

The completion certificate provided to you by the American Red Cross does not include enough information for us to determine if you completed an acceptable course. For your certificate to be reviewed, you must also send either:

  • the verification email received when you registered for the First Aid and/or CPR course. This e-mail should verify whether the course taken was an Initial, Review or Challenge course
  • the Verification of Completion of an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Course form completed by the instructor to verify they completed an Initial or Review course, and not a Challenge course http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/pdf/ARC-verification%20Revised.pdf

NOTES:

  • If your coaching application is being evaluated by your local BOCES, then you must submit the document to that office.
  • If your coaching application is being evaluated by the New York State Education Department (Office of Teaching Initiatives), then you can send a PDF-formatted version of that document to tcert@nysed.gov. In the body of your email, make sure that you include your full name – as it appears in TEACH, and either your date of birth or the last four digits of your SSN.
