Certification
School Leadership Examinations
All candidates for Certification as a School Building Leader (SBL,) School District Leader (SDL,) or School District Business Leader (SDBL) graduating from preparation programs after February 1, 2009 are required to pass the appropriate New York State School Leadership Examination.
Beginning in late August 2009, the NYSTCE School Leadership Assessments (SLA) for Certification as a School Building Leader (SBL,) School District Leader (SDL,) and School District Business Leader (SDBL,) will all be administered individually, by computer, during five separate five-day testing windows per year, at thirteen Pearson VUE Test Centers throughout New York, as well as at additional testing centers in adjoining states and nationally, as follows:
