Update: Office of K-16 Initiatives and Access Programs Program Cycles

  • Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)

    The current four-year cycle runs through 2007-2008. We expect to release guidelines for the next four-year cycle in October 2008, with proposals due sometime in December 2008/January 2009 and award letters sent out by March 2009.

  • Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)

    The current four-year cycle runs through 2009-2010. The new four-year contract cycle begins 2010-2011, with proposals due January/February 2010 and award letters sent out by March 2010.

  • Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act (Perkins III/VTEA)

    The current cycle for formula funding is annual, with 2007-2008 guidelines released in April and award letters due out June-August 2007. The current cycle for competitive funding for 2007-2008 is for one year only, with guidelines released in April and award letters sent out in June 2007. The next competitive four-year cycle is for 2008-2012, with guidelines anticipated to be sent in April 2008.

  • Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP)

    STEP is in the first year (2006-2007) of a four-year funding cycle. The second year starts July 1, 2007. We will send out award letters and ask for 2007-08 proposed budgets the first week in May. The next cycle will be 2010-2014.

  • Learn and Serve America School Based Program (LSA)

    LSA is in the first year of a three-year funding cycle (2006-2009). The second year starts September 1, 2007. We will send out award letters and ask for 2007-2008 proposed budgets the second week in July. The next cycle will be 2009-2012.

  • Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP)

    LPP is completing a one-year extension of a five year cycle (2001-2006 and extended through 2006-2007). We anticipate that we will send out award letters and process proposed budgets soon.

  • Teacher Leader Quality Partnerships Program (TLQP)

    This program is in the fourth year of a five-year cycle that ends in 2008. The final year of this program begins on September 1, 2007, and runs through August 2008. Reapplications for funding from participating TLQP programs are due on or before June 29, 2007. Award letters are due to go out by August 31, 2007.

  • Teacher Opportunity Corps (TOC)

    This program will be under a new three-year grant/contract cycle that runs from July 1, 2007, through 2010. Full proposals are to be received by April 23, 2007. Awards letters to selected programs will go out by May 16, 2007.

  • Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT)

    This current 2007 – 2008 one-year grant/contract cycle begins on July 1, 2007. Applications are due by July 6, 2007. Award letters to selected programs will go out by July 31, 2007.
