  4. Current Funds Expenditures and Mandatory Transfers by Function in Institutions of Higher Education by Institutional Classification, New York State, Fiscal Year Ending 1994 (Table 4a -- Table 4h)

NOTES: (1) In all tables of this publication, amounts for Pell Grants have been excluded from "Federal Government Grants and Contracts" under Current Funds Revenues and from "Scholarships and Fellowships" under Current Funds Expenditures. Also excluded from Current Funds Expenditures are all nonmandatory transfers.

(2) Users doing comparative analyses across time will note major decreases in State University of New York (SUNY) figures (a) revenue from State Government Grants and Contracts and (b) expenditures for Scholarships and Fellowships since fiscal year 1987. These decreases are the result of changes in reporting criteria rather than changes in funding levels. Prior years' data included monies from State programs of direct financial assistance to students (TAP, STAP) while data since fiscal year 1987 exclude these funds.

(3) Beginning in fiscal year 1988, all amounts reported in this publication are expressed in thousands of dollars. Issues prior to fiscal year 1988 report total dollars.
