edTPA Professional Development Sessions: Looking at Candidate Work through the Lens of the edTPA edTPA Professional Development Sessions: Looking at Candidate Work through the Lens of the edTPA

As part of the preparations for the implementation of the edTPA in New York State, the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning, and Equity (SCALE) is holding professional development sessions on Looking at Candidate Work through the Lens of the edTPA. Participants attending these workshops should take away a thorough understanding of an edTPA portfolio as well as resources on how to lead faculty groups through a process for reviewing candidate work in relation to the rubrics of the edTPA.

These workshops are intended to provide a structure for local evaluation of candidate work in edTPA. Participants are provided with samples of candidate work (written commentaries and videos) with the intention that faculty may use those samples to engage other faculty in an identical process back on their campuses.

Sessions on "Looking at Candidate Work through the Lens of the edTPA" have been held in New York City, Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester. In response to requests from the field, additional events are being planned for New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and the Capital District.

The upcoming dates include:
March 11th: (Westchester) Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY
March 12th: (New York City) New York University
March 26th: (Albany) The Sage Colleges
