This fact sheet is the New York State Education Department’s (SED’s)
interpretation of Title I, Part A of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 for
New York State. The interpretation is based on laws, regulations, guidance and
technical assistance available at the time of its publication. It is subject to
change in response to additional information.
