Accountability and Public Reporting SED is collecting the data needed to meet the NCLB's accountability and reporting requirements and to continue providing workforce data to LEAs, schools and the higher education community. 6a. Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs) for LEAs and schools. LEAs' local consolidated applications for NCLB funds must include their plans for meeting the NCLB's requirements for teachers and Title I paraprofessionals by June 2006. Until that deadline, LEAs and schools must meet their Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs) for teacher quality by having, at a minimum, annual increases in:
SED requires LEAs and schools to have annual increases in these indicators at a pace that will bring them to the target of 100 percent by June 2006. Using baseline data for these indicators for fall 2003, SED will monitor progress in the following years and take NCLB-required actions when LEAs or schools do not make adequate progress. 6b. Basic Educational Data System (BEDS). SED has updated its Basic Education Data System (BEDS), the State's sole source of information on the teaching and paraprofessional workforce, in order to satisfy the NCLB's accountability and reporting requirements.
6c. Report Cards. Existing report cards will be updated to satisfy the NCLB's reporting requirements.
6d. Information for Planning. BEDS information will continue to be used for State and local planning for the teaching workforce.
