Strategy 1. Policy Guidance and Technical Assistance
After consultation with the State's Committee of Practitioners, SED issued a series of field memos with policy guidance on the NCLB's standards for teachers and Title I paraprofessionals that link the NCLB's standards to Regents standards. In addition, SED issues local consolidated applications for NCLB funds that provide further guidance to LEAs. To supplement written guidance about the NCLB, SED provides technical assistance to LEAs and schools at presentations across the State and through phone and email help lines. SED will continue to provide policy guidance and technical assistance to ensure that LEAs and schools understand Regents and NCLB staffing standards and have strategies for meeting them. |
