State Strategies

The Governor, the Legislature and the State's entire educational community support the Regents and SED's ongoing efforts to raise student achievement and provide every child with highly qualified and effective teachers.   This plan for meeting the NCLB's teacher quality standards has six strategy areas that are aligned with the Regents strategic plan:   

  1. policy guidance and technical assistance;
  2. teacher education;
  3. teacher certification;
  4. teaching practice;
  5. teacher recruitment and retention; and
  6. accountability and public reporting.
