NEW YORK STATE AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS (Word)

This circular is limited to a description of awards and scholarships administered by the Office of K-16 Initiatives and Access Programs, Scholarships and Grants Administration Unit, New York State Education Department. 

The Scholarships for Academic Excellence 
(DEADLINE: December 12, 2008)

The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
            (DEADLINE: March 2, 2009)

The Regents Physician Loan Forgiveness Program
(Application period runs January through May every year.)

The Scholarships Unit coordinates the implementation of several state and federal scholarship programs including the application and award procedures. For some scholarships, the actual award payments are carried out by the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation.

NO NEW APPLICATIONS FOR THE REGENTS PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (POS) AND THE REGENTS HEALTH CARE SCHOLARSHIPS (HCS) IN MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY.

The Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship
(Unfortunately, there is no funding for new applicants for the 2009-2010 year for the Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship Program (POS) or the Regents Health Care Scholarships in Medicine and Dentistry (HCS). Therefore, we are not accepting new applications for the 2009-2010 academic year.)

(Unfortunately, there is no funding for new applicants for the 2009-2010 year for the Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship Program (POS) or the Regents Health Care Scholarships in Medicine and Dentistry (HCS).
