Scholarship Programs

The Scholarships Unit coordinates the implementation of several state and scholarship programs including the application and award procedures. For some scholarships, the actual award payments are carried out by the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation.

The Scholarships for Academic Excellence  - Administered through NYS high schools.

Catherine Phillips Cook and George Sherman Batcheller Memorial Scholarship - Two Cook-Batcheller Scholarships are awarded each year to Saratoga Springs High School graduates for the first year of full-time academic study at any accredited college or university in New York State or France but not in the city of Saratoga Springs.  The scholarships are for one year only and are not renewable. 

Regent Brigdman Scholarship- the Regent Bridgman Scholarship available to New York State residents attending Amherst College.

The Regents Physician Loan Forgiveness Program - For physicians serving in a physician shortage area.  Application period runs January through May every year.
