Collegiate Development Programs
The Unit’s mission is to coordinate several State and Federally funded grant programs that promote and support strategies to:
- Increase retention and graduation rates for underrepresented and/ or economically disadvantaged students in postsecondary education.
- Increase access for underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students in pre-professional programs of study in the licensed professions.
- Prepare students to work in a technologically advanced society.
- Provide partnerships for recruitment and professional development and retention of K-12 teachers at the pre-service and in-service levels, in collaboration with high-need schools or districts.
- Increase the participation rate of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged individuals in teaching, while enhancing their preparedness for teaching students at-risk.
- Coordinate competitions for recognition activities to enhance teacher recruitment and retention at the local, state and national level.
