How to Get Help

You can contact the Web Site Coordinator by telephone at (518) 474-3969 or by sending an e-mail message.

Browser Compatibility

This site is generally compatible with most browsers. However, for the best results it is recommended that you use the latest version of Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Mosaic.  If you experience difficulty in viewing our pages, check to make sure you have the most recent version of your browser.

Complex File Formats

All complex documents are supplied as either an Envoy file (EVY) or as an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document file (PDF). Both of these file formats are "platform independent" meaning that the same file can be read by computers that run DOS, Windows and MacOS operating systems. Both file formats retain the same layout, fonts and graphics as the print version.

You need to have a copy of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on the hard drive of your computer in order to view and print PDF documents. Readers are available for most computer platforms (including PC and Macintosh).  Directions for the Reader's use and configuration with your computer are available at Adobe's Web site.

You need to have a copy of the free Envoy Reader software installed on the hard drive of your computer in order to view and print EVY documents. Readers are available for most computer platforms (including PC and Macintosh). Directions for the Reader's use and configuration with your computer are available at Envoy's site. Envoy is also available as a "plug-in" for Netscape web browsers from the same location. In addition, WordPerfect (Windows and Macintosh versions) can directly open an Envoy file if the Envoy application is installed.

Navigation through the Office of Higher Education's Site

You will find clickable links to help you go from one location to another or to connect to a specified topic on this site. Some pages provide a clickable image map with links and some text with links. In most cases, clicking on an icon or text in a larger graphic will send you to that images' topic. At the bottom of each page you will find navigational links to get you back from where you came or to let you go on to a new topic.

We provide navigation links to each appropriate page and other files throughout this site. However, plain text (ASCII) materials located either on the web or gopher server or at a remote site will not have these navigation links. In order to return to your previous location you must use the "back" button on your browser.

Read the instructions or manual for your browser for information about the navigational tools provided by the software. Often this documentation is available online.
