I. Announcements
The purpose of this group is to define 3-4 cluster-specific measurements, which will be used on the BPSS web site for potential students to compare schools. Anthony Stanziani started the first meeting of the Computer Technology Peer Group. Participants introduced themselves and gave a brief summary of their schools offerings.
II. Discussion
The following topics were discussed for comparison:
Certification or Credential Achieved
The proposal was made to consider the percentage of students who achieved vendor certification or other credential after completing training. Vendor certification was not available from all participating schools and it was agreed that certification was not a necessary outcome for our training.
Student:Teacher Ratios
This statistic would show the relationship in quantity between students and instructors. Many times, the personalized instruction given in smaller classes is very important to our potential students.
Student:Equipment Ratios
This statistic would demonstrate the relationship in quantity between students and available equipment for instruction.
Customer Satisfaction
Students would complete a standard post-class evaluation to rate their satisfaction level with the training. It was discussed that this may be difficult to have a standard set of questions that would properly gauge the diversified schools.
III. Closing
The next meeting of the Computer Technology Peer Group is February 8, 2001. The goal is to further define our groups measurements so that a report can be made at the next Advisory Council Meeting scheduled for April 5, 2001. We invite all members of the peer group to attend these upcoming meetings and take an active role in this development.
