Computer Programming
For a non-renewable, 1 year permit:
Option 1:
Option 2:
- Baccalaureate Degree;
- 6 semester hours of core courses;
(for example, courses in keyboarding, typewriting, basic organization and management principles, business English, business communications, computers, economics, etc.)
- 6 semester hours in Computer Languages
(2 years of appropriate, documented full-time work experience, not teaching experience, can be submitted in lieu of 3 semester hours of credit); and
- 6 additional semester hours in business related areas
(for example, courses in computers, business English, business communications, systems, management, business law, business ownership, business math, accounting, recordkeeping, economics, etc.)
Associate Degree in Computer Science; and
2 years of appropriate, documented full-time work experience, not teaching experience
For a non-renewable, 3 year provisional license:
For a renewable, 4 year full license:
- All of the requirements for the permit;
- 3 semester hours (or 30 clock hours at an approved professional school association) of coursework in methods of teaching; and
- 1 year of approved teaching experience (or college supervised student teaching or 1 year of appropriate work experience beyond any work experience used for the permit).

- 12 additional semester hours (beyond those required for the permit) in business or business related courses;
- 3 semester hours (or 60 additional clock hours at an approved professional school association) of coursework in professional education; and
- 1 additional year of teaching experience beyond the requirement for the provisional license.
