Accounting

For a non-renewable, 1 year permit:

• Baccalaureate Degree;
  
  
• 6 semester hours of core courses;

  (for example, courses in keyboarding, typewriting, basic organization and management principles, business English, business communications, computers, economics, etc.)

• 6 semester hours in Accounting; and
  
  
• 6 additional semester hours in business related areas

  (for example, courses in finance, computers, business English, business communications, auditing, business law, business ownership, business math, accounting, recordkeeping, economics, etc.)

For a non-renewable, 3 year provisional license:

• All of the requirements for the permit;
  
  
• 3 semester hours (or 30 clock hours at an approved professional school association) of coursework in methods of teaching; and
  
  
• 1 year of approved teaching experience (or college supervised student teaching or 1 year of appropriate work experience).

• All of the requirements for the provisional license;
  
  
• 12 additional semester hours (beyond those required for the permit) in business or business related courses;
  
  
• 3 semester hours (or 60 additional clock hours at an approved professional school association) of coursework in professional education; and
  
  
• 1 additional year of teaching experience beyond the requirement for the provisional license.
